I chose a Wiki format, so as to encourage others to help grow this website and lend assistance and general knowledge to those looking for it. If you are a former programmer for the TI-99/4A, I would love for you to create your own bio page on the wiki, or email me your bio so I can post it, if that's your preference, so the world can get to know who you really are.

== Getting started ==
+
The TI-99/4A was the first computer I ever used. My parents purchased one around 1983 or 1984 and presented it to the family as a Christmas present that year. Although we used it mainly as a gaming console, we also used it to dabble with programming. We mostly typed verbatim, the programs from books like '''Compute!'s First Book of TI Games''', and then recorded them onto cassette tapes to play at later times.

+

* [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:FAQ MediaWiki FAQ]
+
Eventually, I would love to have pages describing TI-99/4A hardware (cassette tape, floppy disk, speech synthesizer, etc.), software (cartridges, basic programs, extended basic programs, disks, etc), emulation options, history, people who associated with the TI-99/4A, advertisements, media, etc.

+
Currently (as of 01/01/2018), there are only a few pages created with some media to download. I have provided a list below (see [[Car Wars]] page as it is the most complete currently, to see my vision for this website).

* The site might be changing addresses soon as well. Stay tuned but www.4APedia soon arriving!!
 +
* I personally haven't been creating too many new pages of late. I've been working on perfecting and cleaning up one of the best resources on the page, the [[Solid State Software Command Module|Solid State Software CommandTM Module]] page and have added  new colume with links to download any .pdf manuals I have and MAME/MESS .rpks. I'm considering adding other rom formats as well. Afterwards, I'll continue adding new software pages, and then will begin with hardware pages.

Welcome and Introduction

TI-99/4A Beige Edition
TI-99/4A Silver Version
I started this website on December 30, 2017, with the hope that it will become a useful resource to the TI-99/4A loving community throughout the world.

The TI-99/4A was the first computer I ever used. My parents purchased one around 1983 or 1984 and presented it to the family as a Christmas present that year. Although we used it mainly as a gaming console, we also used it to dabble with programming. We mostly typed verbatim, the programs from books like Compute!'s First Book of TI Games, and then recorded them onto cassette tapes to play at later times.

Currently (as of 01/01/2018), there are only a few pages created with some media to download. I have provided a list below (see Car Wars page as it is the most complete currently, to see my vision for this website).

Update 03/09/2020 - I started adding color to the "Manual" section of each software inclusion to make it easier to distinguish. See 4A Flyer for an example.

Everyone interested in helping to add or edit anything on this site is invited to click the "Create Account" in the upper right-hand corner. You'll then receive an activation email. Click that link to activate your account, then feel free to help this resource grow.

Update 05/19/2020 - A huge shout out to new user Moosejaw for being the first contributer besides myself. It's great to have someone else on board. See his first addition at Burger Builder. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The site might be changing addresses soon as well. Stay tuned but www.4APedia soon arriving!!
  • I personally haven't been creating too many new pages of late. I've been working on perfecting and cleaning up one of the best resources on the page, the Solid State Software CommandTM Module page and have added new colume with links to download any .pdf manuals I have and MAME/MESS .rpks. I'm considering adding other rom formats as well. Afterwards, I'll continue adding new software pages, and then will begin with hardware pages.
