Just about anybody can get a highscore in Munch Man, Alpiner and StarTrek using a simple code that providesthe user with the keys to the kingdom,so to speak. This code opens the cartridge-based games to a test mode that lets the userget additional men in Alpiner andMunch Man and provides virtuallyunlimited photon and torpedo suppliesin Star Trek. The code that brings up the testmode for all three cartridges is SHIFT8, SHIFT 3, SHIFT 8, or*#*. Following is how to input the codefor the three cartridges: '''Munch Man: ''' Input*#* immediatelyafter the title screen comes on. Ifyou've done it properly you should seethe following line: RND (0-2). Thisstands for the round number. Thehigher the round number, the fasterthe Hoo nos move. Select the roundnumber and then press the enter key.This will produce a second line:SCN (0-19). This refers to the screennumber. After entering the screennumber, a third line appears: MM (1-9). This lets you choose the number ofmunch men you want to start with, upto nine. After entering the number thegame will start at the round numberand screen number your chose. Thescreen will indicate that you have onlyfour munch men in reserve if youchose four or more. However, they willbe replenished until you've used thenumber you selected.
