Account codes are simple to understand,based usually on the first wordof the budget item they represent."F", for example, represents "food." Data entry is directed by screenprompt. Each entry must include theaccount code and the amount. Enteringa non-existent code results in anerror message. You may then reenterthe proper code and continue. While loading, the namethat you gave the data file, whether thename of the month or something else,appears as well as the number of dataentries. The output screen allows you to displaythe data on the screen or to call upthe printer routine. The screen displayis not nearly as effective as the printerroutine, which uses 64 columns. Theprintout includes the name of the category,the amount budgeted, the actualamount spent, the difference betweenthe budgeted and the actual amountand the percentage of the actualamount to the budgeted amount.
