Alexis and [[Scott Adams|Scott]] later divorced. Irene "Alexis" Adams passed away on April 16, 2008.
Along with her husband, [[Scott Adams|Scott]], Alexis created the company '''Adventure International'''. Adventure International is notable for having produced text-based games with little or no graphics involved. Adventure International started in 1978, saw its peak in late 1983 and early 1984, and disbanded in 1985, after the first video game crash. Many people wondered why anyone would want to play a text-only game, but the games by Adventure International proved to be some of the most played, and sought after games of the era.
